Building new from old

A German company, run by Matthias Juchum (son of Thomas Juchum from EUROMOVERS International), and certified by QSS for a number of Standards, has recently won an Inclusion Award for the state of Rheinland-Pflaz.  The company, called JuRec-IT Social & Green Remarketing GmbH, is not in the moving industry but works closely with many commercial moving companies in Germany.

When corporate customers dispose of their old equipment, as part of an office or industrial move, they often ask the removal company to take care of it.  JuRec-IT removes the equipment, destroys the data on the hard drives, then refurbishes the equipment for future use.  The moving company receives a commission for the introduction.  As well as providing a source of revenue for the moving company, the process eliminates the creation of GHG (Greenhouse Gases) that would otherwise come from building new equipment.

The company won the Inclusion Award for its social commitment and for employing people with disabilities. JuRec-IT employs ten people, five of whom have severe disabilities. They have been given jobs in sales, IT, warehouse logistics and transport.

The company as a whole is socially and ecologically oriented and supports many projects and fundraising campaigns in these areas.
